Volunteer Opportunities and other stuff:

APRIL

4/4 - Auction for Sensory wall to be built at Mt. View elementary school (starts at 6:30PM at Mt. View Elementary on Thornwood Dr in Concord). Our Club is working with the school to assist in design and building the wall (which will happen later this year).

4/5 - Saturday 9AM -12 Noon Pancake breakfast (fund raiser for Lioness) and Eye Glass sorting. This is our service project for April. Lions Oakland Blind Center 3834 Opal St. Oakland. Hope to see many of you at this event!

4/19-4/20 (Saturday 8AM-5PM and Sunday 9AM-5PM) Work Party hosted by our guiding Lion - Bill Ridle at the Lions Pittsburg Blind Center 175 Alvarado Ave (Pittsburg). Lunch will be provided. Please come join us. This is a district service project. Contact Bill Ridle (Lionswork@Yahoo.com) if you can help and/or provide tools

4/25 (Friday) - Bingo in San Francisco. Club earns $75.00 - $100.00 per individual donating their time. Please let me know ASAP if you can work.

MAY
5/10 (Saturday 9AM-4:30PM) Special Kids Day in Brentwood (7540 Balfour Rd). Awesome event for families with special needs. Club service project for May - Please plan to attend. Lunch Provided.

5/15 (Thursday night) Bill and Darlene's anniversary party in Sacramento (all are invited) Red Lion Inn at Arden Fair Mall parkway.

5/16-5/18 (Friday thru Sunday) District Convention - Red Lion Inn Sacramento. Our club to receive special recognition on 5/17. Please plan to join us for the celebration. Send registration form to Bill Ridle (e-mail sent previously includes registration from).

5/30 (Friday) Bingo in San Francisco. Club earns $75.00 - $100.00 per individual donating their time. Please let me know ASAP if you can work.

UPCOMING EVENTS
We will have a work party at Matteo's Dream in June or July - Lion Dean is working on design and details (to brace Matteo's Dream entryway sign). More details to come.

Our meeting on August (19th) will be at the Black Bear Diner (Walnut Creek). It will be a club fund raiser with the diner donating 20% of our bill back to the club. Please invite all your family and friends to join us that evening. More details to follow. Our guest that evening will be our current District Governor elect - Lion Jane Perry (current Vice District Governor). We will be inviting Lions from all over the district to join us. It will be a great big party. We would like to have a raffle this evening, please start thinking of items you can get donated for us to raffle off. Hopefully every member will bring two items each.

If you haven't ordered your Lions Club work T-Shirts ($15.00 each), please do so. We would like to have them for Special Kids day. They are bright Yellow and say Lions at Work on them. Great advertising for our community service projects. Send me an e-mail with the sizes you would like to order.
